Underneath all the terraces in the front section are the huge technical basements used to operate the fountains. This is where the entire water artery of the fountain operation system was located – pipes, valves, gears, technical equipment and probably many, many more. The fountains could be operated in a combined manner – they could operate all at once, laterally – from one side or the other of the terraces, or selected individually.
